Vallarta Supermarkets is an American supermarket chain catering to the Latino population of California, offering a variety of fresh produce, meats, and specialty Latino foods. The family-owned business started as a carnicería founded in Los Angeles in 1985 by Enrique Gonzalez. By offering unrivaled quality cuts of meats popular in his Mexican hometown, and served with the friendliest customer service, his business model quickly became successful. When he expanded to a second location, his four brothers joined the mission, and they began to build the successful chain of supermarkets that many know and love today. Throughout the years, the brothers have continued to meet the needs of the growing Hispanic communities in California. Today, the company has expanded to 55 locations throughout Southern California.
